West 55th Street Holiday Lights

I used to live on West 55th Street in a building that I just loved!  The people in the building were amazing and every year the block association raises funds to light up the street!  I moved a couple of blocks uptown a little over a year ago but still make it a point to walk home via 55th Street whenever I can!

Eggnog Popsicles

I'm thinking of making the eggnog popsicles that were posted at Goop!  Now all I need to do is find a popsicle mold in December!

Yield: a dozen popsicles
  • ½ pound cream cheese
  • 1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 2 cups heavy cream whipped until just stiff
Beat the cream cheese in a standing mixer or with a whisk until completely smooth. Thoroughly stir in all of the remaining ingredients except for the whipped cream. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Fill popsicle molds with the mixture and allow to set and freeze for at least two hours (if you don’t have popsicle molds, you can use paper cups and popsicle sticks). The texture will be semifreddo-ish.

My Wedding - The Exit

Year's ago I cut this picture out of Martha Stewart weddings.  I just loved the pop of color as they exited.. Below is how I put my twist on it!

I bought small vellum envelopes and created a little card for inside.
Then we used different size hole punchers to create lots and lots of little circles.

Because both Sean and I are both irish, my mother then
ordered dried four leaf clovers to also include.

The finished product.

on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

My Wedding - "Let it glow"

My mother had seen a wedding where each guest was given a small votive candle at the entrance and they walked it down the aisle to include on the alter.. That's just what we did!  Friends lit the candles and handed them to the guests, who then handed them off to the groomsmen to place on the alter.
